President Donald Trump held a rally in the state of Louisiana on Friday ahead of an election there on Saturday. During his comments, he gave a shoutout to LSU quarterback Joe Burrow and told Tiger fans that they had to go vote before watching Saturday’s game, which featured LSU and Florida, both undefeated and in the top 10.
Here are the president’s comments on the game and Burrow via WVTM.
Now this Saturday, you also have not a bad football game coming up, right? Not a bad one. I guess they’re both unbeaten. I was watching a little bit of a clip today. Your quarterback does not look too bad, does he, huh?
It’s a great game, LSU and Florida. So here’s what you do: I want you to enjoy the game, but I don’t really want you to enjoy the game if you don’t vote first. You know why? Because you will be sitting there watching some incredible football, and you’ll feel guilty. It will ruin your entire afternoon. So go out and vote, and then go enjoy the game the way it should be enjoyed.

The Bayou State election didn’t disappoint for the president’s party. Republicans flipped enough seats to win a supermajority in the Louisiana State Senate, and they flipped enough House seats to be on the cusp of replicating that success in the lower chamber (which will be determined in another election next month).
Additionally, incumbent Democrat Gov. John Bel Edwards, who is vying for a second term, did not reach 50 percent in the state’s gubernatorial race, which means he enters a runoff election with Republican Eddie Rispone next month.
Meanwhile on Saturday night, fifth-ranked LSU defeated seventh-ranked Florida 42-28 in Tiger Stadium. Joe Burrow ended up completing a whopping 21 of his 24 pass attempts (87%) for 293 yards and three touchdowns for the Tigers.
